Following a long and successful career in the local tourism industry Leila Arbouz found herself in a part of Dubai that she had never visited before. There in Bastakia, she was surprised to discover a part of the ultra modern beanstalk city that had virtually stood still over so many years of rapid growth and modernization. She quickly realized that she had stumbled upon the answers to countless questions that she had received from her many tourist clients visiting Dubai over the years, a place where the cultural roots and heritage of Dubai and indeed the UAE lay undiscovered and where answers to so many questions could be found.
With this seed as her inspiration she began her journey to open a door, setting off in search of the answers to the questions she had been unable to answer over the years. She very quickly found them and fell in love with a culture that had an abundance of honest family traditions based on an overwhelming belief in family and religion. Her inspiration began to burn her growing appetite, and Leila then knew that she now had her life’s mission in front of her. She had found answers to something very special and felt a calling pass on the answers to all of those previously unanswered questions in a unique and truly inspirational way. Informative culturally inspired tourism package concepts began to bloom in her mind, and she realized that she could now answer the questions asked with a new energy. She thus gave up her well paid job in the world of the more mundane ordinary travel consultancy world to focus on becoming a specialist in regional culture & heritage tourism. Taking Bastakia as her fountain of inspiration, she quickly secured a property there from where she could work towards her life’s goal, drinking in the cool waters of inspiration she had found there earlier. Sahary Gate House was born.
Today, Sahary Gate House is still a fledgling enterprise, but it is one that is growing strong thanks to its international team and a very heavy atmosphere of inspiration and dynamism. Our program list is growing fast and we are now clear leaders in all aspects of educational cultural and inspirational tourism.
