Iftar with Local Family

Our guests arrive in the house of our local family friends shortly before the call to the
prayer (maghreb). They will be received inside the house in the traditional way and then
be given a short introduction about the family and the concept of the visit. They will then
be invited to join in the breaking of the fast in the traditional way with dates; followed by
the ritual prayers, which they can also watch.
Then they will share the breakfast meal together with the host family. Each step of the
evening will be explained by our guide. During the meal, our guide will give some explanation
about the month of Ramadan, and guests will be able to interact with UAE national guests
freely. The background behind this visit is to give non-Muslims a chance to understand more
about Ramadan with the opportunity to experience something different to the general perception
of the normal impressions gained about not eating or drinking in the public during the month of
fasting. This program will allow guests to witness the joy and finer side of life in tha way that
local Muslims enjoy the holy month.
